Crispy toast with little gem lettuce

Little gem lettuce tostadas are a quick, fresh, and delicious homemade option with a Mexican touch. They combine the crispy texture of corn tostadas with fresh ingredients like tomato, cheese, and cream, creating a light, tasty dish perfect for any time of the day.

INGREDIENTS (for 3 toasts)

For the base

  • 3 corn tostadas
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 tomato, diced into small cubes
  • ½ cup grated cheese (fresh, panela, or mild cheddar)
  • 3–4 tablespoons cream or sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

PREPARATION

1. Prepare the ingredients
Wash and slice the lettuce into thin strips. Cut the tomato into small cubes and grate or crumble the chosen cheese.

2. Assemble the tostadas
Place the corn tostadas on a large plate. If a more filling base is desired, spread a thin layer of refried beans. Add the chopped lettuce, tomato, and grated cheese.

3. Add the cream
Add a tablespoon of cream or sour cream on top of each tostada. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

4. Serve
Serve immediately to keep the tostada crispy. Serve with mild or spicy sauce according to preference.
